Willow Bread Basket Making Workshop with Helena Golden
12th November Saturday 10-5pm
Your morning will begin with a warm welcome from myself followed by our freshly baked scones with tea & coffee. Once you get started with Helena, our kitchen will be busy preparing a delicious lunch for you to enjoy during your basket making class.
At Cloughan Farm we want to give you a day of relaxation, a day to allow yourself discover your creative energy, to reconnect with food and nature and enjoy learning the ancient craft of willow weaving.
We are once again delighted to welcome Helena to Cloughan Farm & Cookery School for this beautiful day. Learning the skills of hand weaving and providing students with the opportunity to work with natural materials is something that we are so very proud of and I’m sure you will be too when you’re heading home with your bespoke basket.
Join Helena Golden Willow Woman to weave your own Bread Basket. Over the course of the day, you will learn the skills of weaving a round willow basket, suitable for use as a bread or fruit basket. This course is suited to beginners or to those who wish to practice the techniques involved in the round basket. Fun and learning guaranteed in the comfortable setting of Cloughan Farm & Cookery School.
All materials and tools provided and each person will finish a round basket to take home. The group will be small to ensure that everyone gets individual attention and support.
To be able to bake a cake for friends & family is just magical. Passing on the skills of home baking is something I am very proud of in our Fabulous Baking & Desserts class.
In this class you will learn how to make light & fluffy cakes & sponges, sinful desserts with all the trimmings and delicious seasonal puddings.
You’ll be armed with an array of deliciousness to take home & enjoy where I’m sure you’ll have eagerly awaiting family or friends, or both when they hear your off on a hands on baking & desserts cookery class
In this class you’ll be making a delicious Halloween Barmbrack along with traditional Irish brown bread and scones. You’ll also get hands on learning the beautiful art of jam making as well as creating a pot of autumn chutney.
It won’t take long until you have your own pantry shelves lined with pots from your garden and hedgerow harvest.
Would you like to include more fresh fruit and vegetables in your diet but not sure of how to create delicious meals and side dishes. This is just the class for you whether your a fully fledged vegetarian or carnivore
Due to the rise in coronavirus we have taken the decision not to go ahead with the remaining hands on and demonstration cookery, baking and craft classes at Cloughan Farm for the rest of 2021 and in to 2022
Government has not asked or advised us but we feel at this stage it is the right thing to do for our hospitals & emergency departments and their staff & just as importantly, their families and ours.
All our classes were fully booked with many attendees traveling across the country to join us for our workshops. Our classes and workshops were running from 4-7 hours and we fell this would only have added to the escalating situation in the run up to Christmas.
