Afternoon Tea & Home Baking with Fiona

Your afternoon tea and home baking class will begin by cracking free range eggs that are collect from the nest boxes of Cloughan Farm hen house an hour or two before you arrive. You’ll be beating these beautiful ingredients together along with rich Irish butter and cream to hand make and decorate a delicious selection of pastries and cakes. The table will be appropriately dressed in the dining room in its afternoon tea attire with linen table clothes and napkins, vintage cups and saucers etc. And finally completed with your delicious baking and of course pots of tea and coffee.

Customised Cookery Class Followed by a Kitchen Garden & Farm Tour

Premium Experience Description

Cookery class with full kitchen garden & tractor farm tour

Start your unique immersive experience in the kitchen with Fiona for a cookery or baking hands on class of your choice or both. Later you’ll enjoy the fruits of your labour around the dining table in the company of Fiona and Michael. Next you’ll pop on the wellies and warm coat and head for the tractor and trailer to be taken by Michael to the farm yard. You’ll get hands on feeding lambs and calves as well as visiting some of the sheds where our ewes are waiting to yean or head out to the fields to see the new born lambs dancing and playing around as their mothers watch cautiously for any danger . Visit our native Irish purebred Dexter cows and their calves and hear about their rich heritage .Michael will also share with you the history of Cloughan Farm and our family while explaining the day to day running of a busy working farm and its seasons. Here you’ll get lots of opportunities to ask questions and hopefully hop back on the tractor and trailer knowing a little more of how our food is made and the lands that produces it.

Note: The farm & garden experience does depends on the time of year but normally runs from April – September

Parking: Private Coach (30 seater max) & Car Parking Available.

Mobility: Farm walks required a moderate level of fitness.

  • The farm is not wheelchair friendly due to its uneven surfaces.
  • However, we aim to work around issues by providing a tractor and trailer ride where possible.

Allergies: Please advise any allergies/dietary requirements at least 10 days before arrival so that alternatives can be arranged.
