In this hands on class Fiona will have you preparing, cooking and plating up a 3 course meal plus get all the tips on how to set and style your dining table for that truly atmospheric and memorable gathering . Your evening will begin with a selection of canapes when you arrive. In the kitchen seasonal menus and recipes will be followed as Fiona guides you through your culinary creations right to the plate. They'll be lots of helpful tips and suggestions too! In the dining room we'll take some time to do the equally important tablescaping to add the final touches before everyone sits down together to enjoy the fruits of our labour. You'll leave full of inspiration and enthusiasm and excited to plan your own dinner party full of deliciousness and confidence Things To Know Do you cater for specific allergies? Cloughan Farm is a small business with just one kitchen. Vegetarian options are available so please make us aware when booking. We are however are unable to cater for specific allergies. We use fresh flowers and burning candles to decorate our cookery school. Booking & Cancelation Policy: Bookings only excepted via our online platform All class bookings are strictly non-refundable in all circumstances unless a class is cancelled by Cloughan Farm & Cookery School. If you cannot attend a class after making a booking you cannot transfer your the booking to another date. However, your may transfer your booked class place to any friend of your choice. Absolutely trilled to share the stage with the queen of cake decorating, Marian Malone from Special Occasion Cakes. More Details To Follow But For Now! In my cookery demo I will demonstrate a delicious lunch using much of our kitchen garden and of course a seasonal dessert. Marian will demonstrate and share all the tips in icing a cake in buttercream and decorating it in beautiful flowers from our garden and hedgerows . We'll all finish up in the dining room to enjoy Fiona's kitchen garden lunch and of course a slice of Marians wildflower meadow cake.

After the big man himself, Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without delicious home baked goodies and festive desserts. When you arrive at Cloughan Farm & Cookery School you'll be greeted with a warm glass of mulled wine along with some tasty little seasonal morsels. In the kitchen we'll get hands on creating a delicious dessert suitable for the festive season. A lip licking ice cream that you can have made ahead just encase that unexpected visitor might decide to call. We'll also teach you how to make some Chutneys and Pickle for your Christmas cheese platter, nibbles and canapes, and of course you'll also make an array of one and two bite savoury morsels. At the end of the evenings the fruits of your labour will be beautifully ribboned and bowed to do as you please but just before your head out the door we'll all sit back and relax with a cuppa and cake..

I am so proud to say our great friend Marian Malone from Special Occasion Cakes is one of our longest invited tutors to Cloughan Farm. Marians passion and the attention to detail she gives each student is incredible. In this hands on workshop you will enjoy decorating your very own cake in the Christmas theme. All ingredients and equipment are included.I am also delighted to say Marian will also be demonstrating how to ganache a cake and decorate it using her recipe for a beautiful velvety buttercream What You Will Learn!! Your hands on workshop with Marian will begin with helpful tips how to choose a theme when decorating your cake that will best suit your ability and style. You'll also be guided through the correct environment and equipment you will need to enjoy cake decorating at home. Marian will demonstrate the different techniques of preparation and ganaching cakes. Once the important basics are covered its time for you to get going. You will be guided step by step with Marians and her many years of experience and sharp eye to detail. By the end of the day you will be so proud of yourself as you head home with your festively iced cake in hand and hopefully have honed in and enhanced your own sugarcraft skills in our wonderful hands on workshop. Not only is this a fantastic opportunity to begin or devolve your interest in the world of sugarcraft, its also a wonderful opportunity to pick up all the tips and notes from Marian from her many years of experience. What Your Day Will Also Include! When you arrive in the morning at Cloughan Farm you will be welcomed with our freshly baked scones served with our homemade kitchen garden preserves and a cup of tea/coffee. While you are in the kitchen with Marian we'll be busy in our kitchen preparing and cooking a seasonal festive lunch and dessert using much of our home grown vegetables & Cloughan Farm reared meat . The workshop will break for lunch which you will enjoy in our dining room. During this time you will also have an opportunity to visit our kitchen garden, greenhouse and polytunnel. Just as you put the final touches to you cake at the end of the evening, we'll have the kettle on for a cuppa and cake before you head home. On the day you will also have the opportunity to purchase our homemade Jams & Chutneys as well as our preserve gift sets and gift vouchers. Learn & taste the traditions of homemade Irish soda breads & jams. Wonderful chutneys & relishes served with terrines or slices of honey glazed ham and a board of our favorite Irish cheeses. In this class you'll be making traditional Irish soda bread, scones and a crusty white loaf of yeast bread. You'll also learn the beautiful art of jam and chutney making to recreate when you get home. It won’t take long until you have your own pantry shelves lined with pots from your garden and hedgerow harvest. Tea/coffee and our freshly baked scones on arrival. Learn to create the perfect mince pies and delicious jars of mincemeat using Fiona's family recipe. Class includes all ingredients, and a glass of mulled wine on arrival Fiona will share with you all the tips and hands on experience and your evening will include all ingredients, class notes, recipes and a kitchen goody bag. You’ll enjoy a light festive supper at the end of the evening.

Sow Grow & Homesteading with Fiona
Join me in 2026 as I sow & grow my own vegetables & fruits in our kitchen gardens, greenhouse and polytunnel at Cloughan Farm. Perhaps you are interested in getting your own few hens or rearing broilers, we will also be sharing with you how to get started . In the kitchen you'll be getting hands on from time to time cooking and baking our garden bounty as well as preserving and fermenting with recipes included This is a wonderful opportunity to learn and replicate in your own garden as you sow and grow along side Fiona at Cloughan Farm Cookery School. When you arrive in the morning, you'll enjoy our freshly baked scones just out of the oven topped with our own homemade preserves and with tea/coffee. As your day ends before we will all gather in our dining room to enjoy a Farm to Table lunch cooked by Fiona in the kitchen of Cloughan Farm. When and What it entails- Workshops will take place on the 2nd Wednesday of each month
