The creativeness and stillness of art and painting is something I have always loved and now to have the opportunity to introduce botanical art to Cloughan Farm & Cookery School is something we are so excited about. What greater complement can we give our gardens and land than paint her beautiful bounty and landscape.
Life on this earth as flourished thanks to its rich soil and warm rays of sun and no mater where we go there are stunning plants and flowers that catch the attention of the humans artistic eye.
Of all that is living, botanical plant life, the most common seen by us on a daily basics are taken for granted but when we look closer with our naked eye, every bit of flora and fauna is spread across our countryside . Similarly our garden & horticultural flora are used for our own needs and decorative proposes and yet we have weed flora which can be undesirable and invasive but yet create a sense of decorative beauty within our harmonious living .
Now we’ll hear a little bit about Giulia and what your botanical art workshop will entail.
🤗A little bit about me🤗
My name is Giulia and I am Italian living in Lahinch
I am a Botanical artist and sustainable flower grower based in Clare. I have been creating botanical illustrations since 2013, with the intention of creating a connection between nature and people. Each of us has a memory or a feeling attached to a plant and I want to give that back to you through my art and wildflower arrangements.
For the day we will explore the basics of botanical art by sketching wild and cultivated flowers first with pencil and then tipping into some basic watercolour techniques.
It will be a beautiful relaxing experience and you don’t have to be an experienced artist to join.
I guide and demonstrate helping to let you free in the process of observing… and creating a beautiful painting!
l will supply all the paints & materials for the day and students will take home their finished sketch & watercolour painting.
If you are a curious mind and you wish to try something new you are very welcome!
Your morning will begin with our freshly baked scones and pots of tea & coffee as you chat and get to know your fellow students for the day ahead.
During the day we will pause for lunch where you will be treated to a cookery demo with myself followed by a delicious Cloughan Farm seasonal lunch
