What to Expect & Enjoy!!
The smell of freshly baked scones just out of the oven as you arrive at Cloughan Farm. Topped with our own homemade jams and a dollop of cream, served with a pot of tea/coffee or seasonal fruit cordial to welcome you. We provide a safe camp site location for tents & camper vans with toilets, shower facilities and phone charging points
Depending on the time of year, enjoy getting hands on bottle & bucket feeding pet lambs and calves for their morning and evening feed as well as collecting eggs from our free range ladies. Fiona or Michael will also take you around the kitchen garden and orchard and into our greenhouse and polytunnel to see how we produce much of our own chemical free vegetables and fruit.
Fiona & Michael invite you into their home to gather around their farmhouse kitchen table where you will enjoy getting hands on with Fiona preparing a delicious, seasonal home cooked evening dinner ( menu options available). You will also join us the following morning for a freshly prepared breakfast and get to bake your own Irish soda bread or scones before you depart Cloughan Farm.
A little bit about Fiona & Michael and where we are located
Home to Fiona Egan & husband Michael Farrell, our multi award winning Cookery School and farm is situated in the heart of the South County Longford countryside on the Westmeath border. We are currently 4th generation here at Cloughan, but both our families, the Egan’s & Farrell’s are steeped in generations of farming.
We are just a short 1 km distance from the River Inny and the Royal Canal Greenway and a further ½ km from the pretty village of Abbeyshrule. Our location means that we are approximately a 25 minute drive off the main N4 from both Longford & Mullingar town, and off the N6 from Athlone town. We are less than an hour and twenty minutes drive from Dublin, Galway and Sligo and of course bordering the midland counties of Roscommon, Westmeath and Cavan giving us an ideally central location here in the hidden heartlands of Ireland.
